Student Research Dissemination Seminars |
In 2004 the ‘Free within Ourselves’ Academically Based Community Service project with a strategic focus on British African and Caribbean communities was introduced onto the research portfolio of London South
Bank University (LSBU).
The project (relaunched as CBACS in 2007) offered learners a research pathway where they were able to
offer an academically based community service to their communities.
The project consists of two strands - student and community - with the
latter extending outwards to the British African / Caribbean communities
as a means of bringing students, their communities and the university
together in a three-way learning partnership.
A number of students with a 'generative desire' have taken up this
option over the years and we now have a growing number of research
projects to be shared with members of the British African and Caribbean
communities, as well as interested others, with very useable
recommendations on moving forward.
