British African-Caribbean or Jamaican?

Whilst at the cultural dialogue conference in Caux last week the question of why identify as British African

Caribbean came up?  Why not identify as a Jamaican living in England?  Mmmmmmmh!  Do you have any views on this?  Let me know what you think. 


Another question: why refer to yourself as descendant of enslaved Africans?  Why not descendant of once enslaved Africans?
