What standards do parents need to set ourselves to ensure that our young at the childhood stage of the life cycle are effectively supported on their journey through life?

How are we supporting our children here in the UK at the stage where they are preparing to take their GCSE's? Is our support as parents adequate? What sense of purpose and meaning are we instilling in our children and young people?

This is the stage at which our young people should be gaining their professional or other training setting them up for their career in whatever field they have chosen. To what extent do they receive appropriate support for making choices? Have they been protected by us sufficiently at earlier stages to be making optimum choices at this stage?

Are our members at the junior adult stage building satisfying careers? Are they in a position to be positive role models to their children, to provide homes and effectively nurture and support them? Are they able to develop supportive intimate relationships? Are our senior adults building successful careers and effectively launching their young into the wider world?

Are our elders in positions of influence in the society? Have they had the opportunity to reflect on their life experiences drawing lessons on how to improve life for members of their group? Are they people our younger generations can look up to and depend on?
