As far as I understand Nia's comments, she was referring to people at the eldership stage of the life cycle.

You are at a different stage. What stage are you currently at?

Lol, I am still looking on the other page. Waiting for your reply!

I am at Junior Adult.

I never really looked at it in that way, but it is good as it would lift a great deal off my shoulders.

The burden of thinking I have to make so many changes to myself and provide foundations to my son is alot.

In your walk of life, through all the events and teachings life has show you, what would you say would be the first thing one should work on to make positive changes in their life?

Exactly what I suggested earlier. Take the time to learn how to really get in touch with your own self because as you do that you will also gain important insights into what it is that your child needs.

This is a good conversation...transformation and self-renewal are subjects that interest me greatly! Let me listen in for a while and hopefully i'll have something to add too!

At the junior adult stage you have more pressing issues that concern you that you need to take care of. For example, developing as a parent in your own right, developing your own intimate relationship, creating a 'nest' for your family, supporting your family.

These are important responsibilities you have now at the Junior Adult stage of the cycle.

Re:The crucial point 2009/01/15 20:09
The crucial point is the same one I made at the outset. Change begins with you: you must be the change you want to see and you will become an effective role model for your child that way.

Change can be hard, but I am realising that it is crucial.

"Change begins with you: you must be the change you want to see

I will remeber this each time I am close to giving up.

"developing as a parent in your own right, developing your own intimate relationship, creating a 'nest' for your family, supporting your family."

Everytime I go on the phone, these are the current topics which are being discussed .. So I will second this notion.
